COMPOSITE BONDING

At your first appointment for composite edge bonding at Smile Hub Dental Clinic, your teeth and gums will be extensively examined. Together, we will discuss the composite edge bonding procedure and determine if this is the best cosmetic dental treatment for you. If you are ready to proceed, we will polish your teeth at your next appointment. Using a tint guide, we will then select a colour for the composite edge dental bonding. Then, our cosmetic dentist will etch the selected tooth or teeth and apply a liquid that will aid in the bonding process.

Using several dental instruments, the composite edge bonding is then applied to the teeth. The composite edge bonding is subsequently shaped and moulded into position.

Once we are satisfied with the appearance of the composite edge bonding, we seal it to your teeth using a bright UV light or laser.

Your teeth are then polished to a flawless finish.

What advantages does composite edge bonding offer?

There are a number of factors why patients opt for composite edge bonding:

- Composite edge bonding is a non-invasive procedure that requires no drills, injections, or anaesthetic.

- Composite edge bonding is a treatment that appears natural.

- Composite edge bonding is a quick procedure; it takes about an hour to treat a few teeth, so additional appointments may be necessary if multiple teeth need to be treated.

- With composite edge bonding, you can leave the dental Clinic in Bayside with a beautiful new smile immediately.

- As composite edge bonding addresses only the tooth's edge, it is less invasive and requires less time than conventional dental bonding procedures.

- Composite edge bonding is reversible, so it can be eliminated if you change your mind.

How long is the lifespan of composite edge bonding?

With proper dental hygiene and maintenance, composite edge bonding should last between 3 and 10 years. What maintenance should I perform on my composite edge bonding?

You should brush your teeth for a minimum of two minutes, twice per day, and floss routinely.

Visit the dentist and hygienist every six to twelve months.

To prevent composite edge bonding from becoming stained, you must abstain from coffee, tea, red wine, piquant foods, and cigarettes for at least 2 days after treatment.

Avoid consuming foods such as chewing gum and hard candies. Apples and bread rolls should also be cut into smaller pieces.

You risk chipping your composite edge bonding if you bite pens, pen covers, or use your teeth for cutting sellotape, etc.
