Why do I need Dentures?
Dentures are removable, unobtrusive, and far more common than most people realise. They are frequently used as a stopgap measure between more permanent treatments, such as dental implants, or when other options, such as bridges, are not feasible.
Which denture varieties are available?
There are numerous varieties of dentures to accommodate any circumstance. Dentures fall into two categories, full and partial, and are selected based on the patient's requirements. Commonly, a partial denture is used to restore the space and appearance of one or more lacking teeth. When all of the teeth in a dental arch must be replaced, a full denture is likely to be recommended.
What are dentures comprised of?
There are a variety of materials that dental laboratories can use to fashion dentures. Acrylic is a frequently used material due to its light weight and ability to create custom tooth-coloured tints. Cobalt chromium is frequently used to create the frame that the new teeth rest upon. These are thinner and more comfortable than all other versions made of acrylic.
How much time will it take to create them?
Depending on the type of dentures you require, they may be fabricated during a series of weekly appointments. The first two phases consist of taking impressions or intraoral scans and measuring the comfort of your bite. The third/fourth stage is the "try-in" stage. Before the final denture is fabricated, a wax mock-up is created to evaluate the fit, bite, and, most importantly, your satisfaction with its appearance. The final step involves fitting the denture.
What should I anticipate when having a denture fitted?
When custom-fitting your dentures, we will ensure that they are pleasant to wear. We will verify that you can bite properly and that you understand how to maintain your dentures to ensure their durability and oral health. Commonly, minor modifications are made at this juncture.
